Review: Digital Breathalyzer Blood Alcohol Content Breath Tester

digital breathalyzerIf you are a nurse that doesn’t want to lose your job and your license (unless you’re ready to quit nursing), then this little gadget may be the perfect tool for you, assuming that you have a few drinks every now and then. It’s a digital and portable breathalyzer. It measures your blood alcohol content (BAC) to determine if you have had too much to drink before you drive (or go to work!).

The manufacturer is Gadgets R Us. This is their Executive Edition which is sleek, small, highly accurate and built to last. I found it at one local store, but you can but it online (try Amazon item #GDGT-75228) for $85. I know that you can find cheaper alcohol breath testers, but this one is well worth the money.

To use it you simply turn it on, blow into it for five seconds, and then read the digital display. If you are over the legal limit, you don’t even have to read it because it will give you audio warnings to tell you not to drive (you’re dunk!). It runs off of three AAA batteries, which are not included.

Because it is well built and small enough to be portable, you can tuck it into your purse or nursing bag to have easy access to it. I have a similar one that I keep in my glove box. At first it may just be a party novelty thing (to see how drunk you can get), but it is built to be a life saver.

If you have this breathalyzer, or a similar one, I would love to hear your review or comments about it. Feel free to leave a comment in the box below this post.

P.S. The below video shows how breathalyzers work.

I had a little cheap breathalyzer for fun. Was the hit at the parties. Fell apart after a few weeks. Been thinking about buying a better one like this one.

I like how it gives warning signs if your bac is over the limit. Does it squal or what kind of noises does it make?
